Replacement Sediment Water Filters
The Sediment Water Filter should be replaced monthly, or sooner if it appears dark or becomes so clogged with debris that water flow is impeded. The most common reason for service for ultrasonic scalers is failure by the user to regularly monitor and change the Sediment Water Filter This will result in contamination and clogging of the internal water components.
These Sediment Water Filter are solely for the purpose of preventing particulates in the water supply from clogging and potentially damaging the scaler and/or insert and should not be considered a solution to address said CDC recommendations for proper dental waterline maintenance.
Effective dental unit waterline maintenance is a key component of an infection control program. This is due to the fact that water flowing through the long internal waterlines of dental equipment (including ultrasonic scalers) can harbor bacteria, and if untreated can harm your patients or staff.
To help you stay in compliance with CDC recommendations, we provide procedural recommendations HERE.
